5 Tips for Applying to WarCollar Industries
Is this you?
There are lots of reasons why you should work for WarCollar! We have great benefits and our personnel have the privilege of supporting our client in some of the most unique, challenging, and personally-fulfilling mission activities available to contractors. But, we need to know much more about you, “Chris.” Here are our top 5 tips for applying to WarCollar.
Tip 1: Fill out our application form in full.
We use an online system called Agile Onboarding. You will have the opportunity to upload your resume there in .docx, .doc, or .pdf format through this system, but you will also need to fill out several fields to be able to successfully submit your application. These include:
Security Clearance Information: If you do not meet the minimum security clearance requirements, you will not be able to submit your application.
Authorization to work in the United States
Government employee status: never, former or current
You also have the option to identify your gender, race, veteran status, and/or any disability. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.
Tip 2: Make sure your contact information is up to date… and that you check your email!
Most of us have two or more email addresses. If you are not including your primary email address with your application, be sure to check that secondary (tertiary, etc) email address to see communications from a WarCollar recruiter or employee.
We also understand that many applicants do not want to share an office phone number and cannot check their cell phones throughout the work day. Be sure you identify yourself on any outgoing voicemail message, and check your messages when you leave work.
Tip 3: Include dates for all positions held.
List each position you have held, and include dates for each position. If you have held multiple positions with one employer, show us when you changed positions and what new tasks you took on. This not only helps us identify positions for which you might be a good fit, but also assists our Program Managers in completing necessary paperwork for your application package.
Tip 4: Include relevant military service.
As a certified service-disabled veteran-owned business, we understand the challenges veterans face transitioning to the private sector. As a military-friendly employer, we provide qualified veterans with rewarding, mission-driven careers.
We know it can be difficult to incorporate your military service into your civilian resume. There are many resources online to help you with this task. For example, Clearance Jobs provides several templates so you can best present your skills when applying to defense and intelligence jobs.
Tip 5: Get referred!
One of the many benefits of working at WarCollar is that our employees can receive a recruiting bonus up to $20,000 per hired referral. In fact, friends and fans of WarCollar, can receive $10,000 per referred hire even if you don’t work for us (yet)! If you know someone at WarCollar, reach out and we’ll get the ball rolling.
